My name is Vernon Hood.

I come from Sandy Bottom, Georgia, not just a place, but a foundation. A community that taught me life isn’t promised to be easy, but it must be meaningful. Where work mattered, education mattered, and character mattered. Elders were respected, discipline was learned, and giving back wasn’t optional, it was understood.

This site, and everything on it, is built on those values.

My Story Is Your Story

Rooted & Heritage is not just a T-shirt collection.
It is a shared story.

It begins with one family’s journey—but it does not end there. Because my story is your story if you were raised by love, shaped by struggle, grounded by faith, or carried forward by people who refused to give up.

To be rooted is to know where you come from.
To honor heritage is to respect the path that brought you here—no matter where that path began.

These shirts were inspired by Black families raised in small, often forgotten communities—places where history lived in people, not books. Where churches were anchors, family reunions were records, and survival itself became legacy. But the meaning goes far beyond any single place, name, or generation.

Rooted & Heritage belongs to anyone who values their life story.
