About the Founder – Vernon Hood Taylor

Heritage to Heart was born from a lifetime of service, leadership, and a deep belief in the power of connection, connection to our roots, our communities, and one another.

Vernon Hood Taylor brings over 50 years of experience at the intersection of military service, education, and workforce development. As the former Director of Lifelong Learning for the United States Marine Corps, he helped shape programs that enabled thousands of service members to translate their military experience into meaningful civilian careers. Throughout his career, his mission has remained constant: helping people move forward with purpose.

But Heritage to Heart is more than a professional extension, it is personal.

It was created from a simple realization: in today’s fast-moving world, too many people are losing touch with what matters most, family, heritage, faith, community, and shared history. This brand was built to help restore that connection in a way that is simple, meaningful, and visible.

Every design tells a story.

Some designs reflect the pride and sacrifice of military service. Others honor small-town roots, family traditions, and the quiet strength found in everyday life. Many are inspired by real communities and real people, often developed in partnership with local organizations such as American Legion posts.

Heritage to Heart is more than apparel.
It is a platform for storytelling.
A way to honor the past while inspiring the future.

Most importantly, it gives people something they can wear with pride, because it represents who they are and where they come from.
